abstract

functionally gradedpoisson’s ratio structures have been developed for critical protection. in thispaper, the static bending and buckling of fgpr nanoscale beam are studied basedon the nonlocal timoshenko beam model, in which both young’s modulus andpoisson’s ratio are assumed to vary continuously in the thickness direction. byutilizing total potential energy principle, equilibrium equations are derived.in the numerical results, beam models with different material properties areintroduced, and the effects of the nonlocal parameter, aspect ratio and thepoisson’s ratio on the deflection and buckling are discussed.

Bending, Buckling and Vibration of a Functionally Graded Porous Beam Using Finite Elements

This study presents the effect of porosity on mechanical behaviors of a power distribution functionally graded beam. The Euler-Bernoulli beam is assumed to describe the kinematic relations and constitutive equations. Because of technical problems, particle size shapes and micro-voids are created during the fabrication which should be taken into consideration. Two porosity models are proposed. T...

Bending and Free Vibration Analysis of Nonlocal Functionally Graded Nanocomposite Timoshenko Beam Model Rreinforced by SWBNNT Based on Modified Coupled Stress Theory

In this article, the bending and free vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) nanocomposites Timoshenko beam model reinforced by single-walled boron nitride nanotube (SWBNNT) using micro-mechanical approach embedded in an elastic medium is studied. The modified coupled stress (MCST) and nonlocal elasticity theories are developed to take into account the size-dependent effect. The mechani...

On the buckling analysis of functionally graded sandwich beams using a unified beam theory

In this paper, a unified beam theory is developed and applied to study the buckling response of two types of functionally graded sandwich beams. In the first type (Type A), the sandwich beam has a hardcore whereas in the second type (Type B), the sandwich beam has a softcore. In both the type of beams, face sheets are made up of functionally graded material. The material properties of face shee...

Vibration and Buckling Analysis of Functionally Graded Flexoelectric Smart Beam

In this paper, the buckling and vibration behaviour of functionally graded flexoelectric nanobeam is examined. The vibration and buckling formulations of functionally graded nanobeam are developed by using a new theory that’s presented exclusively for flexoelecteric nano-materials. So by considering Von-Karman strain and forming enthalpy equation based on displacement, polarization and electric...

Buckling and static analyses of functionally graded saturated porous thick beam resting on elastic foundation based on higher order beam theory

In this paper, static response and buckling analysis of functionally graded saturated porous beam resting on Winkler elastic foundation is investigated. The beam is modeled using higher-order shear deformation theory in conjunction with Biot constitutive law which has not been surveyed so far. Three different patterns are considered for porosity distribution along the thickness of the beam: 1) ...
